The 97th Virtual Private Investment Forum Worldwide

97th Private Investment Forum Worldwide “Investment in Agro. What can save the world from food shortages? Chapter II.”

The last Agro Investment Summit which was held on August 11, was a tremendous success. It touched upon very hot topics and allowed global investors to share frank answers on burning questions, exchange valuable experience and compare their investment strategies. Though it lasted for 3 hours, this time wasn’t enough to cover the topic in full depth and many important questions were left unanswered. Therefore, it was decided to hold another Agro Forum, to help investors further revamp their agro investment strategies in these challenging times together with other industry leaders.

Private Investment Forum Worldwide: “Investment in Agro. What can save the world from food shortages? Chapter II.” will take place on October 6, 2022 . Investment leaders will once again turn their attention to solving food security crises and responsible investment in sustainable agriculture. This pivotal event will be organised by the Global Investment Leaders Club. It aims to deploy short- and long-term responses to boost food and nutrition security, reduce risks and strengthen food systems. During the Forum’s panel discussion investors will discuss how to invest in agriculture so it becomes more sustainable, produces more food at affordable prices and at a better quality, protects the environment and brings bigger investment returns.

Bert van der Vaart, Chief Investment Officer at SEAF, US, shared his perspective during Private Investment Forum Worldwide: “Investment in Agro. What can save the world from food shortages? Chapter I.”:
“We have invested a lot in Agriculture. Because in the emerging markets it’s been a very strong transition theme whether it was in Eastern Europe, where people were moving away from status-led economy which included a very inefficient agricultural sector, or whether the issues such as climate change require tech to find a way to adapt to those changes. It’s all a question of transition.Unfortunately, in the Agribusiness sector, you can’t do anything without understanding what the government does. There’s just too many farmers, they have too much of a political vote. But sometimes we’ve been wrong footed. What we try to stay away from is a commodity.”

Collaboration and partnerships among the key players in agriculture can lead to tangible steps to address the impact head-on. Join us to discuss investment in research and development projects, building of climate resilience into agriculture, carbon-smart solutions, biological alternatives to artificial fertiliser’s, support of governmental initiatives and programmes and innovative food solutions.

Craig Astill, an investor, founder of the Caason Group (an Australia based single family office in Melbourne) and a Club member said: “ I think the fact that we are not getting nutritional value out of the foods we currently grow is a key global issue. Nowadays, mass production of foods, which contain a lower level of proteins and nutrients, pale in comparison to what we were getting out of our traditional foods many years ago. I think this is where we have seen a shift towards what we can produce using organic inputs to be able to activate crops growth. The crops that we produce and the nutritional values we take as humans clearly impacts us as individuals. I think there are better ways for us to continue to improve our food from the point of protein and nutritional value as well as what it does for us in terms of human health benefits. So that’s the key driver for why we’ve invested heavily into the agricultural space, as well as into the agtech sector. I see that it is something that will continue to emerge over the next 20 years.”
Last time we also had amazing agro projects which drew a lot of investors attention. This Forum also features a presentation session designed for #investors and industry leaders to learn about the most innovative and promising agriculture and food oriented projects.
