John Braze is an investor who graduated from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. John’s focus is to invest in companies that deepen interactions among machines, humans, technology, and society through communication, collaboration, and convening. He aims to commercialize deep-tech, risk mitigation, non-obvious markets, product globalization, and aligning stakeholder incentives.
John is a Managing Partner at Mir Ventures, a pre-seed and pre-stage investment company with the focus of helping strengthen the bond between technology and humans. They have a strong preference to invest in technology that uses bricolage innovation around the edges, providing oxygen for a large market and requiring no marginal effort for adoption.
John’s the President and a Founding Member of Wharton Alumni Angels, which is an angel investment group composed of University of Pennsylvania alumni and non-Penn alumni who have joined our community, founded in 2016. Their members are entrepreneurs, senior business executives, and institutional investors with a worldwide influence. They have members in every continent and invest in start-ups all around the world.
He also serves as a President at Mir Meridian, a consultancy firm specializing in complex, capital intensive, and highly regulated industries. They strongly believe that maintaining a positive mindset and building long-term relationships is an essential part of the business.
